We’re very excited to share Alyssa and Danny’s Shadowbrook Wedding!

Alyssa and Danny chose the Shadowbrook restaurant located in Capitola, CA for their wedding ceremony and reception. This restaurant sits an hour and half south of San Francisco, CA. Historically, the Shadowbrook restaurant began as a log cabin summer home in 1920. Additionally, the cable car added in 1958 adds to the unique charms of this venue. Of note, is the Shadowbrook shuttle offered within a three mile radius of the restaurant. The shuttle service consists of two classic cars. 

Alyssa found her strapless bridal gown at David’s Bridal. Correspondingly, Danny wore a blue suit with a light blue bowtie. Once the dress had been secured, Danny and Alyssa sent out wedding invitations by The Knot. Together, Alyssa and Danny chose the Creekside Patio at Shadowbrook, which sits alongside the Soquel Creek. While getting ready, Alyssa had her hair and makeup done by Anne Igiebor of Uwa’s Artistry.

Of note, the couple shares an affinity for legos. As you can see, they had very special replicas made of legos that looked just like the two of them on their wedding day. Moreover, the groom even made a small bouquet of lego flowers. Lateron, Alyssa carried a stunning white and blue bouquet by Susi’s Flowers. As Alyssa walked up the tiled stairs to meet her groom, she was accompanied by the music of classical guitarist, Ken Constable. Behind the couple was an ivy covered wall that created an archway for their nuptials. 

After their ceremony, it was time for their reception in the Greenhouse. Both Alyssa and Danny were giddy as they signed their wedding certificate. Of course, their food was catered by Shadowbook. Next up, Alyssa and Danny dined and mingled with their wedding guests. Furthermore, some speeches and toasts were given by loved ones. Lateron, the newlyweds were put in the hot seat for a game. Specifically, the couple each held the other’s shoes and took turns raising the left shoe or right shoe in response to questions they were asked. 

Finally, it was time for Alyssa to toss her bouquet. Soon it was caught and hugs were exchanged. In detail, Alyssa and Danny’s three tiered white iced wedding cake with bright blue accents was created by Shadowbrook. Significantly, they cut their cake together revealing it was chocolate inside. In conclusion, the couple headed back outside for a ribbon walk. Emphatically the ribbon wands were waved by wedding guests forming an aisle way between them. In the end, Danny and Alyssa walked between the ribbons and into a Shadowbrook shuttle decorated for their wedding day.

Shadowbrook Restaurant Menu 

Firstly, anyone looking to dine at the Shadowbrook Restaurant must follow their dress code policy. In detail, their website says, “Our evening attire ranges from Business Casual to Formal. Beachwear, un-tailored shorts, tattered jeans, tank tops, caps and flip flops are prohibited in all dining room areas.” Further, they have an extensive drink menu that has many wines, cocktails, coffee drinks, and other non-alcoholic options. 

For example, the Rock Room Lounge and Patio menu serves food as late as ten o’clock. Given that this menu serves anything from fresh pretzels to brie, there are some eclectic offerings. Additionally, the dining room requires reservations. Within the dining room menu there are gluten free and vegan options. From time to time, patrons might browse the dessert menu too. As mentioned earlier, there is an extensive catering menu for couples hosting their wedding here. For one thing, Tripadvisor has over one thousand reviews that give Shadowbrook a 4.5 out of five star review. 

Shadowbrook Wedding Cost

For the most part, couples can get a very detailed cost breakdown in the Shadowbrook wedding packet. Basically, their menu packages cost between $50-$89.95 per guest. All in all, the total number of guests can range from a max of thirty-seven, to a max of one hundred. But the ceremony fee is the same for all sizes of wedding, two hundred and fifty dollars. Comparatively, the facility fee can range between $200-$1,500. As I have said, this range is dependant on the number of people at your wedding. 

At any rate, each of the venues within the Shadowbrook have their own food and drink minimum. Evidently, this price fluctuates between $800-$5,000. By all means, the day of the week and the guest count are important factors. Fourthly, Here Comes the Guide mentions a gratuity of twenty three percent. Lastly, Wedding Wire has over twenty five reviews giving Shadowbrook a 4.8 out of five star rating. Of note, are all of the items included in the costs, like table settings and clean up.

For the most part, Capitola is a quaint beach town known as ‘Capitola by the Sea.’ In addition, Shadowbrook is on the top 100 list of America’s Most Romantic Restaurants. In similar fashion, it earned a Best Date Night Restaurant award. Most importantly, Shadowbrook in Capitola is known for its operational hillside cable car. Summing up what Capitola is known for, this city sits alongside the shores of Monterey Bay. To illustrate the size of this city, around ten thousand people call it home.

On occasion, Shadowbrook posts about holidays, special events, and weather related information. Recently, they shared that even after much rainfall and the rising river, they were still open for dinner.
