Riverside Place Wedding // Rachel + Tyler

Weddings

We’re very excited to share Rachel and Tyler’s luxurious Riverside Place Wedding!

First off, Riverside Place is located in Spokane, WA. Specifically by car, Spokane, WA is a four hour drive from Seattle. Additionally, by plane Spokane is a one hour and fifteen minute flight. In detail, Riverside Place is a masonic temple located in the downtown historic district of Spokane. Additionally, this venue overlooks the Spokane River.

Initially, the day began with the bride and groom getting ready for their wedding ceremony. Firstly, Rachel had chosen a long sleeved dress from Hannah Hill Bridal with an open back.  Together, she paired her flowing gown with patent black heels. In addition, she had her hair and makeup done by Meaghan Sheets of Volume Beauty Studio

Secondly, Riverside Place features four unique spaces that can be rented. Depending on the size of your wedding, the auditorium can seat up to twelve hundred guests with use of the balcony! In brief, when you rent a venue at Riverside Place it includes a lot of amenities. In effect, a rental includes a venue coordinator, full set-up & take-down of the chairs, tables, and linens, and an event time of five hours.

Within Riverside Place there is an auditorium where their wedding ceremony took place. As Tyler stood on the stage he waited to be joined by Rachel. Finally, Rachel walked across the black and white tiled aisle way. Identically, the couple shared their vows, their ‘I do’s’, and exchanged rings. When they descended the stage they moved on to signing their marriage certificate.

Thirdly, it was time for the newlyweds to make their grand entrance at their reception. Further, their reception was inside of the Falls Penthouse. Of note, are the waxed black floors of this room. When the lights hit the flooring it reflected as if the couple were gliding across water. As you can see in the photos below, the flooring brought a very cool effect. Meanwhile, the ground outside was dotted with snow.

Following their first dance, it was time for the wedding guests to share a meal. Also, their dinner spread was catered by A Catered Affair. Afterwards, Rachel and Tyler cut into their wedding cake together. As a matter of fact, they had a two tiered cake with cake with a swirled black icing design made by Just American Desserts. Markedly, their cake topper featured two silver and sparkling hearts. Obviously, after they ate, they danced! Their DJ, Greg McGuire, did an excellent job getting the party going and ensured that everyone had a blast!

Our team at Sound Originals loved being there to capture Rachel and Tyler’s wedding day. Please enjoy their photos!

Riverside Place History

In particular, Riverside Place is also known as Masonic Lodge #34. Initially, this building was built in 1905. Lateran, the temple was expanded in 1925. Within the Riverside Place venue there is a historic room called the Blue Room. Specifically, the Blue Room is two stories and featured Egyptian décor. Also, the room still has its original mahogany furniture. As mentioned on their Facebook page, you can take a tour of the property and see its grandeur for yourself.

Of note, Spokane has a historic preservation office. Significantly, Riverside Place is an example of Neo-Classical Revival architecture. What’s more, this venue is considered to be the grandest fraternal lodge of the West. In summary, the main two architects of this building were John K. Dow and Loren L. Rand. Finally, Riverside Place was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Interestingly, Riverside Place was sold to an Australian businessman in 2013 for the sum of $1.1 million dollars. Originally, the building was built at a cost of $150,000.

Riverside Place Parking

As mentioned on their venue page, Riverside Place offers complimentary parking with a booking. In truth, it is wonderful when a venue has its own parking for wedding guests! Especially when you consider out-of-town guests who have already traveled to the wedding destination. To address specific questions, you can contact Riverside Place by phone or email.

If for some reason you needed off-site parking, the Riverfront Park area offers a few parking lots. Between the hours of 9am to 6pm on weekdays, the parking costs only three dollars per day. However, outside of those hours and on weekends, the parking can cost more. At most, someone using the lot will pay a max of fifteen dollars for the day. It is worth mentioning that they consider ‘a day’ to be between 6am and 12am.

Spokane Wedding Venues

While our featured couple chose Riverside Place as their wedding venue, there are many other venues in Spokane. Overall, The Knot has compiled a list of eighty wedding venues in Spokane, WA.
