Rattlesnake Lake Engagement Photos // Bradley + Meredith

Engagements

We’re so excited to share Bradley and Meredith’s Rattlesnake Lake engagement photos!

The couple recently moved to the Seattle area from Houston. When Bradley was ready to pop the question, he wanted a setting that was very Northwest. At the time, he wasn’t also planning for Northwest weather.

But that’s what he got! It was pouring rain, windy and cold at Rattlesnake Lake. Very, very cold!

But nobody complained.

As a result, these Rattlesnake Lake engagement pictures turned out absolutely stunning. They are also pure Pacific Northwest at its finest. We love the mist rolling across Rattlesnake Ridge. Congratulations!

Rattlesnake Lake is located off exit 32 on Interstate 90. It’s managed by Seattle Public Utilities. There’s plenty of parking. The lake is only a few minutes from the parking lot.

Rattlesnake Lake Engagement

Rattlesnake Ledge

Rattlesnake Lake is the gateway to access the very popular Rattlesnake Ledge hiking trail. You can see the summit of the trail on top of the mountain behind the engagement photos. It’s a relatively moderate hike to the top. You should plan on spending two to three hours. From Rattlesnake Ledge, you enjoy sweeping views down to the lake and across the Cascade foothills. It’s gorgeous!

Rattlesnake Lake

Rattlesnake Lake is managed by Seattle Public Utilities. It’s part of the watershed that provides drinking water to the city of Seattle. However, Rattlesnake Lake itself is not part of the water supply. The lake is only about 20 feet deep. The shoreline also fluctuates during different seasons. That’s why you can sometimes walk out to the tree stumps. But they’re sometimes covered with a few feet of water. As a result, you’re engagement photos at Rattlesnake Lake will always be a bit unpredictable. That’s the beauty of it!
